Baby Ear Cleaning Tips
The ear is a very important organ in infants. It consists of the inner, outer and ears. Cleaning the ear in infants should be done with extra caution because it concerns the hearing organ of the babies.
Although risky, but it is not an obstacle for not cleaning the ears of infants. Baby’s ears were rarely cleaned will create dust and dirt settles and accumulates on the inside of the ear. If left too long can lead to hearing loss and infection.
If you still feel afraid to clean your baby’s ear, then you can do to clean the baby’s ear tips as below:
- Previously prepared beforehand equipment needed to clean the baby’s ear. For example round cotton, cotton swabs and baby oil.
- Use baby oil to moisten the cotton round. Then lift the baby’s head and clean the front and back of the earlobe slowly.
- Clean the outside of the baby’s ear. The outer part of the ear consists of the ear canal and ear.
- Clean the indentations found on the ear by using cotton swabs baby oil that had been given previously.
- Avoid to clean the inside of the ear hole because this part is still sensitive so is not allowed to be entered stemmed cotton. Additionally different stools with dirt adults are more easily soiled due to dust and dirt.
- Hum songs that are soft or baby invite conversation so that the baby feel calm and comforted when his ears cleaned.
- When finished cleaning the ears, dry the baby’s ear by using a dry towel or soft cloth.
